Over the last five years, we’ve witnessed one of the most dramatic revitalization projects in progress. Once known for its vacant lots and empty warehouses, South Lake Union is now a vital community of office buildings, shops and restaurants, urban residences, and amenities. It is the hub of many forward-thinking organizations such as the Institute for Systems Biology, UW Medicine, and Amazon.com. It is also a community that is devoted to sustainability. There are now more LEED-certified buildings in South Lake Union than in any other part of the city. Combine that with pedestrian-friendly streets, plenty of parks, and a convenient public transportation system, and it all adds up to one livable community. So come and spend one perfect day in South Lake Union—you’ll never want to leave!

**A popular event within the industry and beyond, the NAIOP Property Tour is an annual outing that explores local development projects connected by a common theme. The tour, which typically takes place in July, provides an informative and entertaining view of innovation and trends in the industry and also provides an opportunity to showcase projects created by the efforts of NAIOP’s diverse chapter members.
Past tours have included stops at emerging downtown Seattle landmarks such as Escala, the Joshua Green Building, the Russell Investments Center and the Four Seasons Hotel. The tour includes a stop for lunch as well as post-tour hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.
