2015 REC: Historic Renovation in Georgetown: Creative Blend of Preservation & Sustainable Development
Young and old meet as students from the University of British Columbia and the University of Washington propose development for one of the most historic landmarks in Georgetown, the Malt House from the Original Rainier Brewery. Partnered with site sponsor, Sabey Inc., this year’s annual Real Estate Challenge gives students the opportunity to create and present a development proposal for a designated landmark and mixed-use property located in historic Georgetown, a colorful industrial neighborhood evocative of Seattle’s past. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about Georgetown, and industry best practices that meld historic preservation and new building design criteria.
