About NAIOPWA's Developing Leaders Program

ALL NAIOP members who are age 35 and under qualify or are considered a Developing Leader within NAIOP. Your membership entitles you to participate in our extensive network, gain instant access to the latest industry news and enjoy unparalleled networking opportunities. 

2023 DL Programming:

• January - June: Mentorship Program
• Deal Makers Series
• Developing Leaders Networking Events: March, May, October
• Participate in all NAIOPWA events

But most importantly, our program was designed to help your Career Forward by offering you the tools to propel you to the next level. For those ready to connect with their peers nationwide and gain instant access to leaders of the industry, participation in the DL program is a no-brainer.

All NAIOP members who are age 35 or under qualify to participate in the DL program, no matter if you joined through the DL membership category or as part of a corporate membership. As long as you meet the age requirements — and NAIOP has your date of birth on file to verify it — you are automatically considered a DL and have immediate access to all the benefits of the program.

DL Member Benefits

Local events and programs add value to your membership:

• Annual mentorship program: Meet experienced professionals first in a networking group, then one-on-one, in a program designed to introduce mentors and mentees to multiple new contacts over the course of six months. 
• Exclusive, DL-only networking opportunities: Open only to Developing Leaders, the DL Committee hosts quarterly events that provide in-depth networking access to industry leaders.
• Exclusive, small-group property tours: Open only to Developing Leaders, these quarterly events provide in-depth access to industry leaders and early views of new properties. 
• New member meet-ups: New Developing Leaders members have access to our new member networking program. Join small, active networking groups and exclusive new-member events, with the opportunity to meet committee and board leadership. 
• Leadership opportunities: Programming for Developing Leaders is developed and managed by NAIOP Washington’s Developing Leaders Committee. Committee members are selected through an application process every September. • Membership dues: 2023 Washington State Chapter Member Dues for Developing Leaders (35 & under) is only $325

Being new to the commercial real estate industry as a broker (and fresh out of college), NAIOP gave me the chance to network with like-minded industry professionals, helping me to expand my network of service providers, owners/asset managers and young individuals also looking to break into the industry. I was even able to help an asset manager work to change some cumbersome signage legislation through the Government Affairs Committee. NAIOP has been essential to my business development and will continue to be an integral part of my future in the property world.
