Community Enhancement 2017: Farmer Frog

Saturday, September 30, 2017 | 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Farmer Frog, a sustainable, educational farm in Woodinville, turns underutilized sites into environmentally sound, food-producing farms and gardens, providing a learning environment for students and families to grow food for themselves and their community. Farmer Frog’s long-term goal is to become a model to help other communities replicate their methodology. This project will be the catalyst to help them become a self-sufficient organization.

Farmer Frog is located at 23210 Paradise Lake Rd., Woodinville, WA 98077

Please park at The Church at Maltby, 9322 Paradise Lake Road, Snohomish, WA 98296. A shuttle will take volunteers to the farm work site. Note: The Woodinville-Duvall Road will be partially to fully closed this weekend. Please make sure to map your route in advance.

About Community Enhancement: Making a lasting impact on the community since 1990

Each year, as a demonstration of our commitment to philanthropy and our community, NAIOP Washington State partners with a deserving non-profit or government organization in the Pacific Northwest for a day of community service that provides needed upgrades and maintenance to the selected project site. The NAIOP Community Enhancement Committee plans the implementation of dozens of individual projects at the selected site, solicits the needed materials and financial resources, and coordinates hundreds of volunteers to make the projects happen. Over 25 years, NAIOP has upgraded and remodeled schools, playgrounds, child-care and special needs centers, and school camps, including restoration of habitat for salmon and other native species, utilizing the unique talents and resources of the NAIOP community.

When you sponsor Community Enhancement, you are making a difference in our community and paving the way for future generations to learn, grow and thrive in the Pacific Northwest.

Community Enhancement Highlights:

  • In 2016, more than 450 volunteers participated in the New Start High School project. For the past two years, turnout has increased and exceeded the typical annual attendance range of 350-400. Participants come from more than 100 companies.
  • Each year the site is selected by considering many criteria, but always to ensure that there are plenty of projects for volunteers of all skill and experience levels to accommodate co-workers, friends, and family members of all ages. Childcare provided by the YMCA with specific educational activities for the youngest volunteers is also offered.
  • Community Enhancement is part of the NAIOP Washington State Foundation, which was formed in 2003 to support NAIOP’s vast community initiatives.
