Thank you, volunteers! NAIOPWA successfully completed projects at Mary's Place in Burien on Saturday, Oct. 5, with the support of dozens of sponsors and companies providing materials as in-kind donations. Mary’s Place cares for children with life-threatening illnesses and serves almost 360,000 meals a year from their new Burien location, where NAIOPWA will focus our efforts this year. Mary’s Place provides safe, inclusive shelter and services that support women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. They keep struggling families together, inside, and safe when they have no place else to go, providing shelter, services, resources, community, and hope. At Mary’s Place, our beds are full every night. Our goal is to move people into housing as quickly as possible. Once they come in, we want to make sure we can reduce the trauma and get them back into homes.

About Community Enhancement: Making a lasting impact on the community since 1990Each year, as a demonstration of our commitment to philanthropy and our community, NAIOP Washington State partners with a deserving non-profit or government organization in the Pacific Northwest for a day of community service that provides needed upgrades and maintenance to the selected project site. The NAIOP Community Enhancement Committee plans the implementation of dozens of individual projects at the selected site, solicits the needed materials and financial resources, and coordinates hundreds of volunteers to make the projects happen. Over 25 years, NAIOP has upgraded and remodeled schools, playgrounds, child-care and special needs centers, and school camps, including restoration of habitat for salmon and other native species, utilizing the unique talents and resources of the NAIOP community. When you sponsor Community Enhancement, you are making a difference in our community and paving the way for future generations to learn, grow and thrive in the Pacific Northwest. Community Enhancement Day takes place on a Saturday in late September or early October from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Volunteers of all ages are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Projects at all skill levels will be ready for anyone willing to work! Community Enhancement Highlights:
