GET INVOLVED

  • Sponsor Developing Leaders. Click here for sponsorship information. Contact us at [email protected] with questions.
  • Successful committee members are current Developing Leaders who 1) are passionate about NAIOP's programming and 2) show continual, active involvement in our networking and educational events.
  • You must be a NAIOP member to serve on committees.
  • Participate in one of these roles:
    • Mentor Program Lead will coordinate and lead the annual mentorship program connecting industry veterans with those that have been in the commercial real estate industry for less than 7 years. They will create and maintain a list of NAIOP members willing to actively participate in the mentorship program that runs from January to June every year. Program Leads will pair mentees with mentors and check in regularly to ensure that mentees are in contact with their mentors. They will organize two events to introduce mentees and mentors, including a kick-off event in January and a mid-program networking event. They will survey participants annually on program value and format and provide feedback to the Developing Leaders Committee.
    • The Dealmakers Program Lead will be responsible for planning quarterly educational programs featuring an industry veteran in an open discussion about their career. These events will be geared toward all NAIOP Developing Leader and student members. The Dealmakers Leads will invite and coordinate speakers, draft marketing objectives, develop the schedule of events, serve as an echo-chamber to promote the events among professional networks, and send thank yous to speakers/sponsors after each event.
    • Developing Leader Small Group Lead (4-6 volunteers) Connect with DL membership quarterly. Invite DL membership to upcoming events, host informal meet-up sessions.
    • Networking Event Leads will be responsible for planning and implementing happy hour networking events geared toward NAIOP members and potential members of all ages (e.g. St. Patrick’s Day Networking, May Networking, and Oktoberfest event). The Networking Event Leads will work with staff to select venues, draft marketing objectives, develop the schedule of events, serve as an echo-chamber to promote the events among professional networks, and send thank yous to sponsors after each event.
    • Sponsorship Leads will coordinate DL Committee volunteer outreach to potential sponsors during the organizational sponsorship campaign from January to March every year in order to meet revenue goals. These Leads will assist NAIOP staff, as necessary, with collecting written sponsorship agreements and payment, survey sponsors annually on sponsorship value, benefits and ideas, and send out final thank you cards and solicitation for next year’s sponsorship opportunities.
    • Liaison to one of NAIOP Washington State’s committees. Liaisons attend and participate on another committee, lead special projects, and report back to the group.
