Congratulations 2023 Night of the Stars Award Winners!

SEATTLE – Presented on Friday night at the NAIOPWA 2023 Night of the Stars Gala, the awards honored an impressive slate of commercial real estate projects that serve the community with innovations in retail, office, industrial and multi-family development.

The projects, and the developers who engaged them, demonstrate the flexibility and ingenuity of the CRE community. Additionally, NAIOPWA’s 2023 Night of the Stars finalists highlight important strides made in sustainable development, unique historical renovation, and a continued commitment to world-class development in the Greater Puget Sound area.

In addition to the nominated projects, this year's Night of the Stars Gala honored two individuals for their outstanding contributions to the industry.

The NAIOP Washington State Hall of Fame honors visionary members of the commercial real estate industry whose contributions reflect the ideal of NAIOPWA and have helped shape the character of our communities. This year, Tom Parsons, joins the ranks of the vaunted for his contributions to the built environment of the Pacific Northwest, as well as to NAIOPWA and the commercial real estate community. In recognition of his 33 years of service advocating for the commercial real estate industry in Olympia and on behalf of the organization, NAIOPWA honored lobbyist, Greg Hanon, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary work in our industry.  As our contract lobbyist, Greg has advanced NAIOPWA’s efforts to create a favorable climate for the conduct of commercial real estate in Washington by fighting tirelessly for laws, regulations and policies that increase predictability, fairness and timeliness for the industry. Each year, he has advised NAIOPWA in the creation of our legislative agenda, warning our membership of threats that the industry faces and identifying opportunities to improve the regulatory climate for real estate ownership and development. Greg has built relationships with lawmakers and served as a conduit between our membership, the legislature, the Governor’s office and the Department of Commerce, amongst other agencies. He has crafted our political strategy as we’ve engaged on issues like real estate excise tax increases, rent control, building energy efficiency standards implementation, multifamily tax exemption expansion, and many others. Over the course of Greg’s tenure as our lobbyist, his efforts have greatly expanded NAIOPWA's influence in Olympia. NAIOPWA is now recognized as a critical voice in all issues that impact the built environment, and lawmakers proactively engage our organization for input on proposed policy. Thank you, Greg, for your service to our association and industry.
