Join NAIOPWA's Diversity & Inclusion Committee for a conversation guided by Juliette Austin, Senior OD/DEI Consultant for People & Place Development, a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation project. Austin will speak on effective, action-oriented strategies for the workplace, including accountability and key drivers for cultural development, as well as understanding the risks and rewards of engaging in diversity and inclusion development and how to best achieve long-term engagement and reinforcement around these efforts.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in breakout groups to address the issues with support and encouragement from Austin and the D&I Committee. Be prepared to consider and discuss these important questions: 

• Who currently sponsors or drives diversity and inclusion efforts at your organization? Is this model or approach effective? Where are the opportunities?
• How have you engaged in inclusive actions or what have you seen done, even on a small scale, that had an impact? What was the outcome or learning from that experience?
• In any change and development effort there are champions and resistors. Who are the champions for D&I and who are the resistors? How do you learn, leverage, or engage them?
• Make a commitment and be action driven. Name one thing you are willing to do in service of advancing an inclusive culture at your workplace? How will you do it and why?
