The Expedited VCP process was designed to encourage cleanup and redevelopment. The new process allows Ecology to respond to the needs of developers working under compressed schedules within predictable timeframes. The new Expedited VCP is a self-sustaining process with dedicated staff to respond quickly to the needs of developers working under compressed schedules.  The time to get through the expedited VCP could be as short as 4 months compared to 18 months (or more) under the regular VCP.  Also, the new program allows moving sites in the regular VCP to the Expedited VCP as long as certain requirements are met.  Ecology has recently published a dedicated web page providing more detail about the program.  If you have the opportunity, this a great time to enter the Expedited VCP as they currently have no backlog or wait times on reviewing applications.  NAIOP is proud to have worked with Ecology to help develop the expedited process, which should be a huge benefit to our members.
