The NAIOPWA Community Enhancement Committee is excited to partner with Seattle Public Schools' Washington Middle School for our 2022 Community Enhancement Project. 

Located in the heart of Seattle’s Central District, Washington Middle School (WMS) serves a diverse group of students in their general education, highly capable, and Technology Access Foundation (TAF) Programs. The school hopes that campus improvements will boost morale and create a healthier learning and work environment for students, staff, and the larger community. The Central District is experiencing major development and gentrification. There is an active movement to keep black and other minority families in the community by providing affordable housing, great schools, and safe parks. Improvements to the WMS campus would benefit this larger community movement.

Event details:

• Saturday, October 1 | 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
  
• Washington Middle School, 2101 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98144
• We encourage volunteers to carpool or use public transportation as parking at the school is limited. 
• Advance registration is optional, and helps NAIOPWA prepare projects and supplies.
• One individual may register on behalf of a team for this event.
• Washington Middle School requires that all volunteers be vaccinated. 

Suggested attire: Prepare for potential rain showers and an urban worksite. We recommend long-sleeved shirts, pants and boots, as well as rain gear. Work gloves will be provided. 

Volunteers over 12 are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Projects at all skill levels will be ready for anyone willing to work!
