There is a lot of debate and uncertainty about the quality of some carbon offset programs. It can be a challenge to navigate the carbon credit marketplace and find offsets that are additional, unique, verifiable, and durable. However, until we have truly zero carbon or carbon negative building operations, companies will need to continue purchasing carbon offsets in order to reach net zero carbon goals. This March, join the NAIOPWA Sustainable Development Committee for a conversation around the value of carbon offsets as a short-term stopgap, the qualities that make good offsets, and how to find and purchase them.
