Each fall, NAIOP Washington State hosts a day of community service that provides needed upgrades and maintenance to a selected project site. We are excited to partner with the Northshore School District for our 2024 Community Enhancement Project: Shelton View Elementary School.

Located in Bothell, Shelton View hosts general education, highly capable, and elementary advanced programs for a diverse student population. The student body is made up of over 500 students, speaking over 25 languages and representing more than 40 ethnicities. Tucked in a residential area, the school is part of a close-knit community who uses their campus as a place to play and practice sports year-round.

One of the District’s older elementary buildings, Shelton View has not received any substantial improvements in over a decade. The school sits on 12.9 acres of land surrounded by public forest, which has led to an increase in safety threats and concerns in recent years. With the help of NAIOPWA members and sponsors, Community Enhancement hopes to bring some much-needed improvements that will help create a safe, healthy, and vibrant campus for the students, staff, and community to enjoy. Proposed upgrades include landscaping, painting, safety improvements, new play equipment, and more.

Event details:

• Saturday, September 28 | Work started at 7:30 a.m. and ends when all projects are completed (usually around 3-4 p.m.) 
• Lunch and snacks will be provided.

• Event details are subject to change.
• Suggested attire: We recommend long-sleeved shirts, pants, and boots, as well as rain gear. Work gloves and volunteer t-shirt will be provided. 
• Volunteers over 12 are welcomed and encouraged to participate. Projects at all skill levels will be ready for anyone willing to work!
