Seattle Housing Affordability and Livability Panel: The Path(s) Forward

Join Councilmember Rob Johnson, HALA Advisory Committee Member Gabe Grant and Capitol Hill Housing’s Jill Fleming to discuss the future of Seattle’s housing.

With the Housing Affordability and Livability Agenda (HALA), Seattle is on the national forefront of creative solutions to support affordable housing. Over the next 10 years, the HALA recommendations call for development of 50,000 new housing units in the city, with 20,000 of those units being affordable. More impressively, the HALA recommendations emerged with the support of the development community, non-profit housing organizations, unions and urban density advocates, among others. With these ambitious goals, how will implementation take effect? What innovations are occurring as the City works to adopt these ideas? How will these proposed zoning changes incorporate community input but also ensure the necessary density?

Please join us for a panel discussion on Seattle’s housing and affordability future.
